Comprised of Drury Anderson, Luke Black, Sam Wilson and Josiah Nelson. "Little Sadie" is a classic American folk and bluegrass murder ballad, widely recognized for its stark narrative and modal melody. The song tells the grim story of a man who, in a moment of cold detachment, shoots and kills a woman—often identified as his wife or girlfriend—during a nighttime encounter. The lyrics are typically delivered in the first person, giving the ballad a chilling, confessional tone.
