Next week on the Music Festivals Podcast, I talk with Tim Walther, founder of All Good Presents, along with Janice Hurley who is a long time travel industry veteran and the VIP Coordinator for the All Good Series of events known as the "Trifesta".
You probably know of or have even been to one or more of these iconic music festivals. They include Dark Star Jubilee held at Legend Valley in Thronville, Ohio, All Good Now, the reimagined All Good Festival that will now be held at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD and 4848, held annually at Snowshoe Mountain Resort in Snowshoe, West Virginia.
My conversation with these two left me incredibly charged up—Tim has a 30 year background promoting bands, building festivals and even following the Grateful Dead on Tour. I learned that in his spare time, he also manages Dark Star Orchestra, the world-renowned Grateful Dead tribute band. I never got to see the dead live—Jerry passed when I was still in high-school and in my punk and ska phase. I've always regretted that, so seeing DSO, who diligently works to truly preserve the essence of The Dead's sound across the decades they played brings me as close as I'll ever get. Needless to say, I'm grateful for them.
Make sure to tune in next week. If you're like me, the conversation will leave you feeling "all good"...

This weeks festival performance of the week is personal to me.
First, I am a huge fan of what the Alabama boys in Mountain Grass Unit are up too. Make sure to keep your eyes on these guys. I believe that this summer's jam-packed tour is going to be the beginning of their international rise as a true Jam Grass powerhouse ensemble.
My feelings are that when you see them live, you realize that they have the same "it factor" as Billy Strings and Molly Tuttle. And, that's interesting since both of those two superstars are heavy influences on MGU's song-writing and performances. They are also just incredibly talented, humble and nice guys. Go back and watch my pre-festival podcast interview with these fellas when you have a chance.
I also fully shot and produced the video below, which is a first for me. I am in no way a professional videographer or editor. I am a professional drone pilot, but a noob at best with a lot of room to improve. So the vote of confidence from their folks at DVC MGMT to allow me to work on this meant a lot. Thanks, Don and Lindsey! 🙏.
It was also nice to have access to the mastered audio from their set at WWG25 for this video. And, the guys absolutely killed it in Steamboat Springs! Check out "Hey Mama" from their set at WinterWonderGrass 2025.
